I met Jon at the negotiating table. We were on the same side of a high-value transaction, and within an hour I was texting our team: he doesn’t know it yet, but he’s going to be joining Pylon in-house.

That’s how you know someone is the right hire.

Jon comes from Orrick, where he spent years as a senior partner advising top-10 banks, non-bank originators, and fintechs, including Pylon. Before that, he was an early partner at Buckley LLP, where he helped build the firm from the ground up before its acquisition by Orrick. He has done regulatory and transactional work at every stage of the mortgage lifecycle. He’s a killer negotiator. And he can pick up an unfamiliar problem and operate at an expert level almost immediately.

That last quality matters more than it sounds. Pylon is originating autonomous mortgages at scale, unlocking the lowest rates in the market, and rebuilding America’s mortgage infrastructure at a speed that few in this industry, or even in startups, have ever seen. There’s real complexity here. Jon has spent his career not just managing that complexity but rethinking solutions from first principles.

He’s also a great guy at his core. That matters too.

Welcome, Jon.
